Тема уроку: Останній урок навчального року. Студенти зачитують по 3 діалога які вони склали з використанням пройденої за весь рік граматики і вокабуляру. Розбираємо головні навчальні питання.

Домашнє завдання:
1.  Підручник, сторінка 166 і 167, прочитайте, перекладіть і прослухайте діалог у записі 104: https://studyukrainian.org.ua/books/yabluko-ukrainian-elementary/audio-elementary-level/

Зробiть вправи 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 i 8. You need to do these exercises, looking at the dialogue you just read. Perhaps, my sheet I’m attaching on imperfective and perfective verb forms will help you.
Note, ex. 6 – you need to listen to the recording 105 to check yourself if you did exercise 4 correctly.  As well as ex. 8 – listen to the recording 106 to see if you did exercise 7 correctly.
2. Зошит, сторінка 94, вправа 1 і 2. You’ll need to refer to the table on page 259 on perfective and imperfective verbs. Note, exercise 2 – is simply to analyze the grammar rules of forming the Perfective verbs (доконаний) from exercise 1.
3. Питання дня: « Яка людина у вашому житті мала найбільший вплив на вас або відігравала найбільш ключову роль у вашому житті?».

Домашнє завдання – до 1 травня:
1. Підручник, сторінка 160-161. Вправи 1, 2, 3, 4 і 5. As a reminder, for exercise 5 you need to prepare a short presentation about your country USA using comparative and superlative forms of adjectives. Let me know if you have any questions about other exercises.
2. Vocabulary studies: please get started on vocabulary to chapter 10, on page 162. You can translate and work on memorization of the words in bold. (We will split this vocabulary between two weeks of homework – next week you can translate and memorize the words on page 163).
3. Refer to the “Useful words cheat sheet” I sent you last week. Make 10 to 15 sentences with the words that are most useful/challenging to you.
4. Питання дня: “Чого Вам більше всього хотілося би досягти в житті? Можете вибрати тему професійного або особистого життя.”  Question of the day: “What would you like to achieve the most in your life? You can choose if you want to talk about professional and/or personal life, whatever you feel like sharing”.

Fun word of the Day – Sluggard

Тема уроку: Вивчаємо новий матеріал і термінологію «Одяг і взуття типового українця», вокабуляр і діалоги на с. 158-159. Практикуємо використання нових слів у власних реченнях. Обговорення питання дня «Улюблений фільм».

Тема уроку: Перевірка домашнього завдання про книгу рекордів Гіннеса і різні рекорди Встановлені людьми, використовуючи Найвищий ступінь порівняння прикметників. Обговорення тексту про цікавих тварин у світі, с.156 у Підручнику.

Домашнє завдання до 17 квітня:
1. Підручник, сторінка 158 і 159 , вправи 1, 2, 3 і 4. Note, for exercise 2, you need to listen to the dialogues in the recording Запис 102 and insert fitting words from provided vocabulary in exercise 2.
2. Зошит, сторінка 89, прочитайте і перекладіть текст. Read and translate the text. Here you need to put adjectives in the superlative form.
3. Питання дня: «який ваш улюблений фільм і поясніть чому саме?». Question of the day: “what is your favorite movie and why?”

Тема уроку: Продовження теми «Найвищий ступінь порівняння прикметників», практика і вправи на сторінці 155 у підручнику. Обговорення тексту про Львів у зошиті, сторінка 85-86.

Домашнє завдання з української мови – до 10 квітня
1. Підручник, сторінка 156 , вправи 1, 2, 3-optional,  4, 5 і 6.  For exercise 6 you can try to guess what record these people broke.

2. Зошит, сторінка 88, вправа 15 і 16. You will see that you’ll need to search Google for information and answers to most of these questions.
Bonus (optional): exercise 14 on page 87.
That’s a lot of work, let me know if any of the directions to exercises are confusing or unclear.
3. Питання дня:  “Яка ваша улюблена страва? Чи любите ви її готувати, чи щось інше є вашою фірмовою стравою?”
Question of the Day: “What is your favorite dish?  Do you like cooking it, or is there another dish that is your specialty?”. Write 3-4 sentences.

Тема уроку: Продовження вивчення вищого ступеня порівняння прикметників, вправи на сторінці 151 і 152 у підручнику; Зошит, вправа 7 на сторінці 85. Вивчаємо 3 нові Українські прислів’я і поговорки.

Тема уроку: Вивчення нової лексики про зовнішність і частини тіла. Підручник, вправи 1, 2, 3, 4 5 , 6, 7 і 8 на сторінці 147- 152. Починаємо вивчати вищий ступінь порівняння прикметників, сторінка 151 у підручнику.

Тема уроку: вивчаємо словосполучення «я збираюся» і використання його в діалогах і реченнях, вправи на сторінці 143 і 144. Читаємо і перекладаємо текст про собаку на сторінці 79 у зошиті. Вивчаємо прислів’я:  «Краще синиця в руці, ніж журавель у небі»  і «Слово не горобець…».

Домашнє завдання  – до 6 березня:

3. Підручник, сторінка 147. Починаємо нову тему про частини тіла. We are starting a new topic on learning the body parts in Ukr.

Ex. 6 and 7 – a fun activity on defining the positive and negative qualities of a person’s character.

4. Bonus: Зошит, сторінка 80 , вправа 27. In the space provided, write down what these people are going to do tomorrow at the given time. Note, you need to use the future tense here.

Тема уроку:

Граматичний матеріал на сторінці 142 і 143 у підручнику, дієслова піти, прийти, поїхати і приїхати. Практика їх використання у реченнях. Перевірка складного домашнього завдання.

Домашнє завдання – до 27 лютого:
1. Зошит, сторінка 79 , вправа 26. Read and translate the text about the lost dog and fill in the words in the correct grammar form.
2. Print the “Мені хочеться Worksheet” attached. It has 10 sentences you need to translate from Ukrainian into English, plus make 5 to 10 sentences of your own.
3. Please, throughout the week be reviewing the “Ішов vs Пішов vs Ходив” sheet I made for you, attached. Try to analyze and understand the difference.
4. Bonus: Підручник, сторінка 143, вправа 1 і 2. Practice using a new verb “about to/going to do something” – Збиратися (я збираюся, він/вона збирається, Ми збираємося). If it’s challenging to figure out, we will go through this exercise in class.

2. Зошит, сторінка 78, вправа 22.  Вправа 23 (note, that here the pronouns need to be in the dative case, and the nouns in genitive)
Bonus: exercises 24 and 25, do them only if you feel confident. They’re quite challenging and I hope to go through them in class.

Домашнє завдання – до 23 січня
1. Підручник, сторінка 134, вправа 1, 2, 3 і 4. Reminder: the correct conjugation of those action verbs can be found in the grammar table on page 248. Page 135, exercises 7 and 8. Pay attention to the little table in the middle that says how to use these verbs in past, present and future tenses.

2. Зошит, сторінка 68, вправа 20. Write down at what time the list of stores open and at what time they close. Reminder: refer to the grammar table on page 127, that says – to answer the question “at what time?” – we need to put the hour in locative feminine case (for ex: о восьмій годині, о сьомій годині, о шостій, о шістнадцятій….).
Page 69, ex 21 – write if the certain store is already closed or still open at the given hour. Here, you’ll answer the question “what time is it now?” and use the hour  in nominative feminine case (for ex.: десята сорок п’ять, п’ятнадцята тридцять…).

Тема уроку: Студенти презентують свої вивченні біографії – презентація «Про себе».  Скоромовки – вчимося читати швидко і виразно. Працюємо над підготовленою роздруковкою «Практика використання всіх відмінків іменників і прикметників».

Домашнє завдання до 16 січня:              

1. Підручник, сторінка 126, прочитайте і Перекладіть діалог. Read and translate the dialogue, pay close attention to the highlighted numerals, we will learn and discuss the grammar rule in our class.
2. Підручник, сторінка 132 вправа 1. Note, that the transport vocabulary is in the little box after pictures of transportation.
Ex. 4, p. 133 – read and translate the adjectives describing the transport.
Ex.  5 – describe each transport with adjectives from exercise 4.  Don’t forget that the adjective endings are going to change depending if the transport belongs to male, female or neutral gender.
3.Independent Vocabulary studies, chapter 8, pages 130 and 131 – translate the highlighted words and work on their memorization.
4. Pick just one of the tongue twisters and learn it, practice reading it fast 3 times.

Тема уроку: Повторення вивченого матеріалу за останній місяць; практика знахідного, родового, орудного, кличного і місцевого відмінків. Практикуємо вживання всіх цих відмінків з іменниками і прикметниками.

Домашнє завдання до 9 січня: Продовжуємо працювати над власними презентаціями “Про себе” – вивчити власні тексти на пам’ять і бути готовими презентувати у класі.

Тема уроку: Продовження вивчення ідіом. Ідіоми дня “Моя хата зкраю нічого не знаю” і “Моя хата зкраю першим ворога зустрічаю” – їх походження і історія. Обговорення і вступ до створення власних біографій.

Домашнє завдання до 2 січня:
As discussed in class, please prepare an introduction about yourself (“Про себе”) and try to send by December 27th for me to check your text. You can either send as a typed document over email, or make a clear picture with your phone or scan. I will then send you back the corrected version and you can start working on memorizing it. As an option, you can hand-write and send it by snail mail.

Тема уроку: Перевірка складного матеріалу в домашньому завданні, сторінки 122 і 123. Дати, числа і місяці у родовому відмінку. Вчимося говорити яке сьогодні число,  коли народився і т.д.

Домашнє завдання до 19 грудня:
1. Підручник, сторінка 124 і 125. Прочитайте і перекладіть текст, потім зробіть вправу 4 після тексту. Read and translate the text, then do exercise 4 after the text.
2. Зошит, сторінка 62 і 63, вправа 6. You will need to say what they sell in each of those stores in the mall  (use accusative case here). If it’s a service (for example: fitness center or café) you will need to say what people usually do there.
3. If you don’t know months names in Ukrainian yet, please learn them by heart.
4. Optional exercises: workbook page 62, exercises 1, 2, 3 and 4. Do these if you don’t know your months by heart yet.

Тема уроку: Вивчення кількісних числівників у місцевому відмінку. Вправи на сторінці 118 і 119. Проходимо фразеологізми і крилаті вислови про собак («Я на цьому собаку з’їв», «ось де собака закопана»).

Домашнє завдання до 12 грудня:
Підручник, сторінка 122, Вправа 1, 2 і 3. Сторінка 123, вправа 4 , 5 і 7.
Сторінка 123: Подивіться на таблицю числівників у родовому відмінку. Review the table on page 123 with numbers in genitive case, you will need to know this information to complete exercises 4, 5 and 7. Keep in mind, to answer the question “When?” You will need to use the numbers and months in the genitive case (as in the table on page 123).

Тема уроку: Вивчення днів тижня і місяців року, а також порядковиx числівників (с.114-116 у Підручнику)

Домашнє завдання до 5 грудня:
1. Підручник, сторінка 117 , вправа 3 і 4. Use tables on page 116 and
117 as a reference and help with these exercises.
2. Student workbook, page 59. Read and translate the text, and fill in
the correct endings. I know it’s a challenging task, just try to do
your best. We can discuss any questions in class.
Then do exercises 21 and 22 on page 60. Try to use tables and rules
for forming the plural nouns that can be found on page 238.

Тема уроку: Вивчення і практика всіх прислівників що використовуються з називним, родовим і орудним відмінком. Також практика прислівників що використовуються одночасно з кількома відмінками.

Домашнє завдання з української мови – до 14 листопада
1. Mostly focus on reading, translating and recording yourself reading the text on pp.108-109. Then email me your recording, I will give you some feedback.
Do short exercises 4 and 5 after the text.
2.  Bonus: Workbook, page 56, exercises 10 and 11.

Тема уроку: Вивчення дієслів «стояти, лежати і висіти», специфіка їх використання і вивчення предметів меблів, Їх розташування у будинку. Сторінка 103 і 104 у підручнику.

Домашнє завдання з української мови – до 7 листопада
1) Підручник, сторінка 106, вправи 1, 2, 3.
Увага: Прийменники що у вправі 2 використовуються з родовим відмінком іменника.
Note: prepositions listed in exercise 2 are used with genitive case. Read and translate the text in ex 1,  then for ex.2  find the nouns used with prepositions (from the text).
Ex. 3 – correct the mistakes in the sentences, looking at the pictures.
Page 107, exercises 4, 5, 6, 7.
Note: prepositions listed in exercise 5 are used with instrumental case.
2) Робочий зошит, сторінка 55, вправа 9.
Read the text and fill in the blanks, to your best ability.  Most of these will be in Locative Case… but some of them are in other cases. Try your best, we’ll discuss in class.

Тема уроку: Вивчення і практика Місцевого відмінка іменників, проходження вправ на сторінці 103 в підручнику і вивчення граматичної таблиці на сторінці 246.

Домашнє завдання – до 31 жовтня 2020:

1.  Підручник: сторінка 103, вправа 3. Сторінка 104 вправа 6, 7 та вправа 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 на ст. 104-105. Бонус: вправа 6 і 7.

2. Робочий зошит: сторінка 54-55, вправа 4, 5, 6, 7.
Please note, for exercise 5 – use table “Locative case of Adjectives” on p.246 and try to memorize the correct endings.

Тема уроку: Перевірка складної домашньої роботи Grammar Practice Worksheet; практика використання прикметників і іменників разом, у всіх пройдених відмінках.

Домашнє завдання – до 24 жовтня 2020:

1. Підручник: pp. 102-103, ex. 1, 2, 3 and 5. Translations of the furniture objects you can find in the vocabulary after this chapter.

2. Робочий зошит: p. 54, ex. 1, 2, 3.
I decided not to give you exercises with verbs to stand, lay and hang yet, because they all require a locative case and I didn’t review it with you all yet. We’ll do it in class.

3. The first two tasks are pretty short, so please take longer time to focus on the Vocabulary this week: vocabulary to chapter 6 on pp. 100-101. As always, try to translate at least the words in bold and work on memorizing them. Also, review chapter 5 vocab too (pp.89-90), if you didn’t do it last week.

Тема уроку: Практикування граматики знахідного, родового і орудного відмінку. Перевірка домашнього завдання. Виконання вправ в зошиті на сторінці 47 і 49. Вивчення граматичного матеріалу на сторінці 98 у підручнику і обороту: я б хотів/хотіла.

Домашнє завдання – до 10 жовтня:
1. Робочий зошит, Сторінка 51, вправа 18 і 19. Please review the attached screenshot, I filled out the missing information and correct endings in the table. Review the table and try to memorize the correct endings for adjectives and nouns in Instrumental Case.  Then do exercise 19.
2. Підручник, сторінка 99 , вправа 2 , 5 , 6 і 7: read and translate borscht recipe; in exercise 5 use genitive case, ex. 6 – instrumental case. Ex 7 – write a brief recipe of your favorite dish, using genitive and instrumental to say what you cook it with and what you eat it with.
3. Vocabulary studies for chapter 5: page 89 and 90. Try to translate at least the bolded words and work on memorizing them.

Тема уроку: Закріплення граматики вивченої за попередні 2 тижні. Вивчення ідіом. Читання і переклад текстів про Різдво в різних країнах на сторінці 96-97 в підручнику

Домашнє завдання – до 3 жовтня

1. Робочий зошит: сторінка 47, вправа 6; Сторінка 49, вправи 13 , 14 і 15.

2. Підручник: сторінка 98, вправа 1. Вправа 2: уважно прочитайте і перекладіть цей діалог. Read and translate the dialogue carefully, we will discuss some grammar rules from this dialogue in the class.

3. Скоромовки. Spend sufficient time reading and practicing the attached Tonguetwisters, my advice is to read them several times. Try to read them very fast. Challenge: pick at least 3 Tonguetwisters that you will read very fast for us in class.

Тема уроку: Вивчення орудного відмінку, практикуємо і проходимо вправи на сторінці 94-99 в підручнику, та сторінка 49 в робочому зошиті.

Домашнє завдання – до 26 вересня

1. Підручник, Сторінка 96 і 97. Зробити вправи номер 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 і 8.

2. Бонусна діяльність (за бажанням): Сторінка 93, вправи номер 1, 2, 3, 4 i 5.

Тема уроку: діалоги і обговорення літніх канікул українською мовою. Коротке повторення вивченої граматики за минулий рік. Вступ до Орудного відмінку.  

Домашнє завдання – до 19 вересня:

1. Listen to the recorded dialogue on page 92, then record it on your phone and send it to my email address (ikutsevol@gmail.com).

2. Підручник: вправи 5 , 6, 7, 8 і 9.
Bonus (optional): exercise 1 and 3 on page 91. Write down in two columns which foods are healthy and which ones are harmful. Then Read the statements in ex. 3 and say if it’s true or false.
